Generative AI and AI-Assisted Technologies in Manuscript Preparation

The International Journal of AI, Engineering and Management Studies (IJAIEMS) permits the use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and AI-assisted technologies solely to improve the readability and language of a manuscript.

The use of such technologies must be carried out with appropriate human oversight and control. Authors are responsible for carefully reviewing and editing any AI-generated output, as AI tools may produce content that is inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or otherwise unsuitable for scholarly publication.

The use of GenAI or AI-assisted technologies must be disclosed in the manuscript at the time of submission. Authors should include a statement in the Declarations, Acknowledgments, or another appropriate section describing how the technology was used.

Authors remain fully responsible for:

  • The originality and accuracy of the manuscript.
  • The integrity of the research and reported results.
  • The accuracy of all references, citations, and data.
  • Compliance with publication ethics and copyright requirements.

Generative AI tools must not be listed as authors or co-authors, nor may they be cited as having authorship responsibilities, because they cannot take responsibility for the content or satisfy accepted authorship criteria.

Disclosure Statement

Where applicable, authors should include a statement such as:

"During the preparation of this manuscript, the authors used a Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool solely to improve language and readability. After using this tool, the authors reviewed and edited the content as necessary and take full responsibility for the content of the published article."

Generative AI in Figures, Images, and Artwork

Authors must not use Generative AI tools to create, alter, manipulate, or enhance figures, images, graphical abstracts, or other visual materials in ways that could misrepresent research findings. Any AI-generated visual content must be clearly disclosed and must comply with the journal's ethical and scientific standards.

Policy for Peer Reviewers

Peer reviewers must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents. Manuscripts, data, figures, or supplementary materials must not be uploaded to publicly accessible or third-party Generative AI systems, as doing so may compromise confidentiality, intellectual property, and data protection.

Reviewers remain responsible for preparing their own independent scientific assessments.

Policy for Editors

Editors may use AI-assisted technologies only for limited editorial support, such as improving language or administrative tasks. Editorial decisions, manuscript evaluations, ethical assessments, and acceptance or rejection decisions must always be made solely by the journal's editors based on peer-review outcomes and scholarly merit.

Editors must not upload confidential manuscripts or unpublished research to public AI systems.

Research Integrity

The journal reserves the right to request additional information regarding the use of Generative AI during manuscript preparation. Failure to disclose the use of AI, or misuse of AI resulting in fabricated, misleading, plagiarized, or manipulated content, may result in manuscript rejection, publication correction, or article retraction in accordance with the journal's publication ethics.

This policy may be updated periodically to reflect developments in Generative AI technologies and evolving standards in scholarly publishing.
